I went to Berlin last week.

Didn't go clubbing though so can't help.

Cherry brandy is delicious though.

Re: Berlin
I went about ten years ago. Liked it a lot. Didn't go to any clubs but found plenty of decent bars. Wrap up though it will be freezing!

Its only partly like Amsterdam. In Amsterdam you dont need to get on public transport.

german ice queens are notorious the world over. The thing with germans is that there are rules for everything, and being german the follow these rules unquestioningly. One of the rules is that you don't talk to people who you dont know, which obviously make things a little bit difficult when youre on the pull!

Re: Berlin
I'm actually going there for work this week but unfortunately will be coming home Friday evening.
One of my mates went there for a stag weekend so I got some information from our Berlin office for him - here it is;
'The friends have to take the S-Bahn (or U-Bahn U1) to station Warschauer Str. and they could walk to
1.) Simon-Dach-Str. – lot of restaurants and pubs (good and cheap)
2.) East side gallery close to bridge Oberbaumbrücke – beach bars and some clubs for dancing (Speicher, Matrix)
(only follow the crowds)'
Hope it helps.

Re: Berlin
Kudamm is certainly the place Swiss, but there are also some decent clubs down some of the side roads off the Kudamm. The Europa centre is also a good little outlet with restaurants and a pucker Irish Bar.

Re: Berlin
Will see if my Berlin contact can recommend any, as basically I'd been drinking solid for 5 days by the time we got there and I'll be fucked if I can remember any names.

If any of you smoke, I'm sure you'll love the fact that you can smoke in any restaurants over there.

Re: Berlin
Been to Berlin twice, first time was before the Wall came down and it was just amazing. Second time was after the Wall came down and it had gone to the dogs somewhat. Some great bars and clubs though and my first visit there, it was a genuine 24 Hour city where you could drink anytime of the day or night.

Re: Berlin
Cheers Grumpster.

Any good clubs you went to?

We're staying in Mitte...

Grumpster 3:54 Mon Feb 23
Re: Berlin
Thought it was a great city, but basically find somewhere to go that's near a club and stay there, as it's broken up in to different parts and you can end up walking bloody miles to find the next place.

Was an Irish bar with a Jam tribute act which would have been excellent, if it weren't for the English in there who were so smashed that they were obviously just looking to start a mass brawl.

And for anyone trying to pull, the second a bird says no, don't bother trying to win here round. One of my best friends is German and they are exactly what you've seen on the tin.

Even efficient in telling blokes to fuck off.
